Wait once were done with microbial stage we will obviously work on "creature" stage but will we implement water first or land i no you have a choice but when we do work on the water stage area i would like to help in that department because you guys have every thing wrapped up in microbe stage and dont realy need me right now.

Please read up more on the current concept. There are no separate water and land stages, there are just the multicellular and aware stages. Either of these can be in land or water or a combination of the two. However, since your cell starts underwater when you first become a multicellular organism you will still be underwater. Also, we don't have everything wrapped up for the microbe stage, we still have a lot more to go.

I think we need more concept videos and short animation films to keep people interested in thrive,because every time I come on this site nothing is new!I know every one is working hard on Thrive I know how hard it is to make a game from scratch.But viewers and people come on to this site and see nothing but week old messages.So they think well it must be dead.I think we should add short videos on progress every now and then to show people thrive is not dead.There for atracting alot of people and more programmers art people and get the first stage of the game done faster.I dont mean this message to offend some body and if it did im sorry.

No, we are working, I just tend to lead the discussions these days and since recently I have been busy with school there has been little discussion. Just wait 2 days and I will start contributing again like before.

Also, we have made huge progress that cannot be captured in videos, such as the creation of the cell propulsion system, the programmers discussing the troubleshooting with cmake, and the recent introduction of the collision system for the cells. Thriving Cheese has also made several wonderful cell models that I will take the time to look at further and congratulate when, like I said before, I have the time.

No videos or films are necessary. Remember, patience is a virtue.

I understand but this is not about us this is about the people who think thrive is never going to happen. to show those people that all of you can actually do this.why not prove those people wrong?I do know I'm not that the most talented or smartest person like you game making people are and never will be fully accepted into your group but you should consider this at least this one idea I have.

Don't be hard on yourself, you're only a recent arrival. There is no need to create videos of something that doesn't exist for our fans, especially since this project will take a very long time to complete and such videos would mostly give false hope. Progress is being made, and if fans fail to see that then there isn't much more we can do. Remember, as we have said on these forums MANY times before, we aren't going to start becoming promotional until at least something playable is done.

I had an idea of the space stage. Not sure if someone came up with this already.



1.Robots: Built in the tech editor, can be used to harvest scan or colonize and stuff.


2.Ship Interior: Each spaceship part would have an interior, mabye editable, and the player could leave the cockpit and wander the ship and/or visit the cargo hold. Tech could have an impact on the ship too.

If this was already disscused, let me know. Also, if not, let me know what you think.

None of those ideas have been discussed directly, but they are pretty much accepted.

However, as space stage is soo far away, there is no reason to dicuss it any further. All effort should be done towards microbe stage.

i have an idea , its a evolution menu, so as you play you unlock parts right, so the idea is that when you unlock these parts u can upgrade them and later if you got two specific parts you can merge to get one part with properties of both. its like a tech tree but with parts

I read the microbe stage sub-forum topic "coloration/pigmentation". I didn't want to necro it, so I'll just post here.

I read somewhere that we'll be able to customize the cell membrane color of our cell in the paint section of the microbe editor. Is this separate from cell pigmentation, or will cell membrane colors require their pigment to show? If so, the cell would have to engulf materials that have the pigment. I don't really know how it works, though.

Color has always been hard. The idea of eating things with that colour doesen't help too much, because with chemistry most substances change colour really easily whin combined, so the things you eat will be of a different colour when you digest them.

I would go for leting the player choose it's own colour, and asigning random "natural" colours for ai evolved species. Unless the cell gets energy from sunlight, color is quite trivial.

To be honest, we haven't got to that part yet, and probably wont for a long time - for now we need to focus on microbe stage. Things like this can be considered when we have the more fundamental stuff completed.

I would like to propose a idea for the Flag Ship creature...whne you guys are dne with the game we all play as one and grab screen shots and videos and we ut the best one on YouTube???

I... think they're referring to using one creature to show off the game in promos. That would be Evobeast, which most of you younguns won't remember.

I dont think there is such a group, but why should it exist? What for?
