| I'm getting fed up people are ignoring my posts and it is annoying, I was expecting someone to say 'ok mike the podcast is at this time' instead of being ignored or on my earlier post ' That's a good point mike' when I mentioned the fact that we shouldn't punish the player so hard and explained a system. why the heck is everyone ignoring me now, what the heck did I do. /: | |

| Don't worry, I've read both of your posts, but I didn't have anything to say for either. For the first one I acknowledged that you were working on the next update of the prototype, and I can't wait to see it, and for the second post I can't make it to the podcast, plus I'm not organizing it, so I didn't have anything to say. I think it's just that multiple people have conversations at once, and in addition people can overlook posts anyways, so those two coupled together added up. Sometimes people don't post because they think someone else will. Sometimes people don't post because they don't have time and then they forget. Sometimes people don't post because they are not involved in the said topic. And sometimes people just don't notice the post. I hope there are no hard feelings. EDIT: Just to demonstrate the multitude of conversations, look at the next three posts after your last one. Each one was a different topic. - Quote :
- I'm afraid I won't be able to participate in the actual recording of the podcast (partly because I failed to realise it's currently British summer time and therefore GMT+1 ), but I've recorded my part about the music of Thrive and sent it to WJacobC so he can forward it to ~sciocont for the editing process.

| I added you too. I didn't think your post would need a reply if everyone could talk about it on Skype instead. Sorry about that. | |

| Ok, I'm just about done cutting the podcast. I only need to re-record some segues and do a bit of noise cancellation here and there. | |

| Ok, will we able to make our creatures eventually see-through in skin, like for example, a frog with see-through skin, I couldn't post the link, sorry, Will we be able to do stuff like that though with our creatures, because it must be possible if their is a species that has this, anyway thanks. | |

We won't be including that, because your internal organs aren't part of the final gameplay mesh of your creature. - Oliveriver wrote:

| Cheese, I think it should be next Saturday, although we could make it earlier if we have enough to talk about.
~scio, when you're done send it to Oliver so he can FTP it to the server.

| Intro song use the main theme made by Oliver. And maybe for the outro use Hongchong's theme, for nostalgia's sake. Are those two songs too similar? | |

| Lately i've been looking at some of Bashinerox's posts, as i remembered reading about him doing some hard work in the meta-ball thing. Some of his posts about it were a really nice reading (if you are into that kind of stuff) and explained how to work with that quite nicely.
This is great and all, but then i've been trying to find any of the source files he said he was working with. Even though they wont be directly usable, i was hoping some of the functions could be used directly, or at least part of the algorithms.
Long story short, i've been unable to find anything from Bashi. All there is is a sourceforge repository with some files that seem to control an interface (I've been unable to compile it because of missing dependencies, but looking through the code, there is nothing too interesting).
My question is: Does someone from the early forum remember any place where he could have uploaded his code or something? Unless i see some kind of actual kind of code or something, i'm calling it was just a fake and that he never had anything.

| Didn't get anything on skype from yesterday. I'll see about using oliver's and hong's themes. I don't remember any site where Bashi uploaded his code, unfortunately. | |

| I know Tyranids are unkillable beasts who travel the stars eating everything with so many units. But Tyranids have Diversity every type of Tyranid able to become well fitted for different roles Depending on what their fighting. Tyranids are also mass terafformers They completely reform a planet leaving a lifeless rock behind. So how would oneone go about creating an interuniversal plague? Well once you reach "Godhood" You should have the option of raising a certain race to say "swarm mode" And you become like a "Hivemind" Setting objectives for your Chosen race to follow. Like "hunger" or my favorite If it moves eat it. Now without pure hate please tell me why this would be a bad idea Seriously Tyranids should be the flagship RACE OF THRIVE I mean really they thrive And the only thing that "could" Kill them is another space plague and They encompass evolution Any threat anywhare | |

| i guess you could be just a locust or cicada like behavior, on a bigger scale, but then there are problems like propulsion into space and how they will survive, and etc. it might be possible but i am not sure where we stand with organisms in space, sometimes i have seen no and other times yes.
and if you can do it, they won't look at all like tyranids, from looking at you profile picture i can assume what they look like not chibi...

| Just googled it a zerg-like race in the Warhammer games, i don't think Thrive would be able to do that, dividing a species into different castes. Whats more the organ editor would need to have some crazy organ systems for interstellar flight, i can't even imagine what organism could release energy equal to nuclear blasts, have its flesh not damaged by it and contain enough fuel of whatever it is using to produce the energy. Then again i might be wrong | |

| So, just a question, but to where should I go if I wish to contribute to sounds of creatures? I think my flexible voice acting skills may be of use there for both animal, and civilized. | |

This thread could be used for sounds. However, are you sure a human voice would be the best thing to recreate animal noises? Thrive is intended to be a realistic as possible, so if you come across a creature shouting, "RROOAARR!" in a human voice, it may break the suspension of disbelief. This is a minimum level of realism, but if you think you could create something similar to that either with your voice or a program, go ahead.
