I stumbled upon an interesting project this this evening, its called Grandroids and is being developed by the guy who made Creatures.

I think rather than talk about it its best that you just take a look. Certain aspects of this are very relevant to Thrive.

If you look on the right side of the screen in the first link you can see he's already got about twice what his goal in funding was.

Not sure if this is entirely relevant to Thrive since we're not trying to create true artificial intelligence based off of actual brain functions like Grand is, just what passes for it in most video games. Good find, though!
