| Hi everyone. I think this game is going to turn out awesome and I really want to be a part of it :). I'm fairly good with making basic parts like cell organelles, rocks, sticks, tools, etc. in ms paint, and my friend is good at modeling my concepts in blender. Not only that, we're learning c++. We're very new to scripting, so we wont be able to help out with that quite yet. I know quite a bit about astrobiology, astronomy, microbiology, and evolution, so I'll be able to help out with concepts quite a lot. Anything I can immediately help out with? Thanks for reading. Hope to help soon. |

| Thanks for introducing yourself, I'm sciocont, and I'm the sheriff in town. US of Alaska is my trusty deputee, and our collective word is law. If you want, you cans start modeling low-poly rocks. We're always excited to have passionate new members. | |

| Thanks for being welcoming also, should the rocks I'm modeling really be low poly? I can go a step further and make them fairly developed. I'm almost certain I can make a randomly generated field of rocks too. |

I'd say make them mid range, since we can always cut them down later.

| I finished the rocks a little while ago and uploaded them. I currently have 10, and can do more if necessary. I had to wait for the forum to let me post my link though, so sorry for the wait http://www.mediafire.com/?cikh56yng0kbfux |

| I was looking into some coding tutorials and I was wondering if I should try to start an early version of the microbe stage? It wouldn't use any concepts we've discussed because those are very complex in comparison to my knowledge of c++, it would essentially be a cell which follows the cursor, viruses damage it, proteins heal it. The only purpose it would serve is to have something to build on. Should I try and make it or wait for a more experienced coder to make a better one? |

| I think it would be a good idea. Once we get something to show people, we would get more of a following. | |

| Yes, that's what I was thinking too. Unfortunately, my limited knowledge of the language wont allow for anything to be done extremely fast. |

Keen is working on cell stage I believe, but I haven't heard from him in a while. Feel free to take a crack at it. Our code repository can be found in the information section.

| I'm still here, I just don't have much to post. If you want anything, just post and I'll see it.
I had to rewrite the whole thing from scratch, because Roadkill's code has some Linux dependencies wich are very buggy on Windows (due to pthreads). Currently I am in about the same stage as Roadkill with his code (working menu + stages, wich means it's ready for the cell stage to be built on it).
Now I realise I need some concepts for the stage, the wiki does not have anything useful. The general gameplay, shape of cells, the environment, throw everything you have at me, I will need it.
Feel free to continue your microbe game, Gryph, there is nothing wrong with more versions. We can merge them later. I can't recommend you to use the existing code, though, the simpler things remain for you the better. If you really want the code, the repository contains Linux version of Roadkill's code (uses SDL), I can send you my Windows port of Roadkill's code (uses SFML 1.6) or the code I'm working with right now (SFML 2.0).

Can you set up a simple cell-stage environment? Just a 2d top-down place to swim around in. We can discuss it more on the cell stage thread.

| Just a background image? or a coded background image? And should we move the whole conversation to that thread or just continue it there? |

Yeah, that works. I'd probably be overwhelmed with the existing code. |
