I was really thinking about how easy it is to read lots of data from xml... and how easy it is for people to modify it.. wow.. nevermind!

You don't want video game persistence to be human-readable.

Think about it:

I love you, Rex.

Apparenlty, people are having trouble posting on the wiki.

Scio, if you don't mind, I think I'm going to copy and paste this on the wiki. I'll keep track of the updates.
Go ahead.

Can you make me a member on the wiki? I just registered but it seems you need to be 'selected' to edit the pages.
I'll see if I can figure out how.

Edit: Yeah, I have no idea. ask Xeno or Fireballs 619
Can someone figure this out? I've little experience with the Wiki. Fireballs or xeno, get on it.

This concludes the devblog.

Extremely short devblog, but okay. It's awesome to see Thrive up in the top 100!

It is a great achievement to be selected as one of the top 100. I'm rather impressed that we're being taken seriously finally.

Belgium me, I forgot to post Space Ruler. Scio, do you think you could edit it into this Devblog or should I wait for the next one?

All Bashi's fault achievment if you ask me. Telling people we have coders actively working does miracles.

Perhaps he means Star Ruler, the indie 4x space game.

Quite epic, as you can build ships from fighter sized to galaxy.

Quite unrealistic.

Oh, yes, I do. A (huge) typo.

caekdaemon wrote:

You can, that will be possible in Thrive as well. It's just so unpractical nobody ever does it.

caekdaemon wrote:

Not true. It is heavily bended for gameplay purposes, but it still contains a full fledged physics system for examply.

The main thing is however, that it looks like a prototype for our game. Somewhat working economy, spaceship designing (extremly simple though), diplomacy, ...

There are a few unrealistic aspects in the game, but that can be easily modded out as about four fifths of the game are moddable by Anglescript. We could easily just make a Thrive prototype mod.

But it is unrealistic, that can not be denied. The galaxy sized space ships prove this point. Of course its possible to build them, but where are the resources coming from?

Where is the crew coming from? Why not just make trillions of fighter craft instead?

Galaxy sized ships are not possible- that's way too much mass in one place. It would create a black hole of unimaginable proportions.

Well, I don't know what the problem with the wiki is. As you can see below, the permissions are nice and dandy. Please make sure that you follow the registration process fully when you join, because right now the only registered members we have are as follows:
Xenopologist
fireballs619
sciocont
US_of_Alaska
The Uteen
CMDKeen

If you are trying to post and are trying to post and are not on this list, it will not work. If you think you signed up and are not on this list, please tell us.

That's good, though UTeen will be perplexed.
Is there an option to include different language pages on the wiki, because apparently we've one translated intom Italian now.

The censor is like swiss cheese, I get the feeling every time I see Belgium that it isn't actually censored... They just wrote that. Or maybe that's just me.
