I'll repost it soon (Probably a few days) with a full starfield/spacey background.
Just checking in and seeing if this is the kinda stuff you are looking for

Sweet It's nice, but the contrast could be downed a bit and some bloom could be added (you know what bloom is right?). Right now, as koiboi stated, it's too resemblant of the Spore galaxy. I also noted you followed a tutorial to do this, not sure which. Maybe this one?

Sweet I like, but it's the wrong way. 1200 x 1600 should be height then width for most computer screens. Seeing as it's a draft, there is a few effects needed for polishing. Things like the bloom and contrast edit that Noit talked about. Right now i think you've tried to make it shine with the contrast instead of it giving off a glow. Does that make sense?

| @Noitulove: Yeah I did use that tutorial
Yeah It actually does look a bit too similar to the spore galaxy. Probably the colours (And also the fact that its a spiral galaxy :P)
Bloom - I know what it is but Im not entirely sure how to do it in photoshop.
I've looked up how-to's but they are mainly for entire photos not layers and they dont really fit the space lighting
Im still a semi-begginer to photoshop, so what I might do is make some concept/draft psds and upload them somehwere - and if they are good enough and there are any more experienced people here who would like to maybe fix them up a bit and add the fine details (Which I am terrible at)
For example, I'll upload the PSD of my galaxy soon (Downside is its quite big) and if you think its good enough you can fix it up and add it to a space scene in any concept art/forum background
Thanks | |

| The forum backgrounds should have seams, or be bigger (1920x1080 is my screen res), otherwise they look messed up in bigger screens. This is an example of a seam: http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:jz3j6fGaID-8cM:http://www.modyourpanties.com/images/080117205013-skinedit.jpg&t=1 You can see that at the edges its the same colour, so the texture can be tiled. | |

Yes. I'm not sure if you need a plugin to do it but it is possible... It uses the basic black and white heightmaps... You can save the height map you create as .ter files These can be converted to 3d files I'm pretty sure... Theres a whole section here of intergrating TerraGen with other 3d Apps: http://www.planetside.co.uk/terragen/resources.shtml As for Terragen 2, You can pretty much add any 3d model into it... I think you have to buy it though =/ @Sciocont: Right Thanks

| Haha, I see, although it's not quite bad, some of the text blends in with the upper background, like the names on the posts. I like the background, but I kind of don't like the foreground. If you check out my youtube's background: www-youtube-com/wtfberserk , you'll see what I did for my background. If you guys like, I could try and create a background with an evolution theme to it, but fade it out at the bottom so it'll be clean and all the art will be towards the top so you can see the text and such a lot more clearly. It would be similar to the one we have now, but it wouldn't move with the scroll bar. | |

Maybe this weekend. I finally have some free time, which means an overhaul of the biome system and probably a new background.
