As a new user here, i must say, the forum theme is great and colour choices are awesome for its kind, but invicible tablets with background image going through is purely annoying and serves no purpose, no rage, just criticism

Invi..vici..invincible tablets?

What?

Oh, you mean that moving thing up there? It's called a marquee, I believe.

Well maybe it's just me, but I don't really think it's very critical. Personally I always thought it was the truth, because we needed to get this project up and running. That is, back when this was put up, but really, he does want us to work hard to get this done, as last time, it didn't get done. (long story. Let me put it in a nutshell for you. A guy, ParadoxJuice, I think, saw a guy called Hirnhausen-- later known as Sven-- and his attempt to make Spore better by telling us about a game much better than Spore, known as Evolutions!, and later discovered it was a hoax. Thus he tried to make it a reality. The Evolutions! forums were launched, but we rebelled as little progress was made and we blamed Sven for that so here we are.)

Or maybe it's just this guy's idea of humor, but that's pretty unlikely once you think about it.

Openness is the theme for the forum. we've been through quite a few designs and this is the one with the fewest complaints.

I love the theme, but the "Reply" and "quote" buttons etc. are quite hard to see when over the white galaxy.

Woo, theme change. This one is quite bright, as i was expecting the usual dark colour. I don't know whether i like it more or not yet, i will have to see if i get used to it.

Other than that, the reply button image is not working, and i don't really like the colour for links, especially the colour for visited links, i think they blend too much with the background.

Also, it is quite monochromatic. Maybe a few darker colours may make it better, but it might just be the sudden change that makes me feel that.

Right, I've solved some of the issues, but keep posting here about what you like/dislike. I'm going to get myself some lunch.

Great, the reply button is back there.

That mix of the darker and lighter colours on the posts really helps.

Could i ask for something for myself? That list at the left, the one that lists the latest topics with new posts, i would love if it was just a list, instead of a scrolling list. It would take up more space, but it won't push anything down, as it is at the bottom anyway. And it would make it easier to track recently updated posts without having to wait for the list to scroll all the way down, then start back at the top, if you missed the first threads passing through (as that ones are probably the ones you haven't visited yet).

Edit: also, the colour for visited links and unvisited links is hard to tell apart.

Also, as i clicked at the edit button, i noticed that the quote and edit buttons (where both are present), don't have any separation between them.

I'll see about this, it's a good idea.

I like the new theme, it makes some things a lot easier to read, especially spoiler/quote/code blocks. Who drew the dragon-fly/lizard art?

Apart from link text being a little difficult to tell apart from regular text (perhaps underlining it would be a simple fix?), I don't see any major issues now.

Having the latest posts as a list is a great change, and one I had considered asking for in the past. The scrolling list was always buggy for me, and would often skip back to the top just part way down. A very useful page I found to replace it is this one - thrivegame.canadaboard.net/search?search_id=newposts - which is good for finding stuff you haven't read.

You can thank me for the art and Daniferrito for the suggestion to change latest posts to a static list.

Yea, i had been thinking about the list being static for some time too, but i just saw the oportunity to ask as the theme was just being changed.

I see you have changed the links to green and darker green. These look quite good to me, althrough sometimesthey blend a bit with the background.

Another problem i saw (i hope you don't mind me pointing out so many things, i know it is really hard to match so many things together, especially because when you touch one thing, many other get affected, and on top of that you need to make everything look good together) is that the information under the profile picture (the total posts, reputation, and other information) blends in with the colour of the lighter posts.

Another one: When you move your mouse over threads, the light ones switch to the darker colour, but the dark ones dont change at all. It seems strange to me the change of behavior. Maybe making it so darker threads switch to the brighter colour? I dont know if it will look better, but it might be worth a try if it isn't too hard to implement.

Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to modify either of those things, so I just played with the colors a bit. I think the forums look a bit better now.

I noticed that the icon for the page (on firefox shows up at the left of the url, or when adding a page to favorites) is no longer there. Either the theme change got rid of it, the image got deleted from the server it was hosted on, or it is just derping on my side (alredy happened before, but not for so long). Or something else. It is showing for anyone else?

Oh, and links inside quotes, like this one
Quote :
link
or inside spoilers, like this one
Spoiler:
merge with the background. But only unvisited links, as this one seems ok:
Quote :
visited link

First two links are supossed to be unvisited, the las one is suposed to be visited

The icon problem is present for me on Chrome as well. No idea How to fix it, last time it just eventually fixed itself. It's probably the browser clearing its cached memory for the site's images due to the new theme change, but I barely know if any of what I just said was in any way technologically valid.
Ok, I really have to find a better link color.
