| Yeah, of course much later in development. However, he meant for the full proceeds to go to advertising. I personally prefer sticking to no money, no nothing, but I'm open to hear what others think as well. | |

| Yeah its a different case if we raise funds which all go to a specific point. If we we're to subsidise our time with donations and stuff to allow us to work on the game more, then it would be extreemely hard to fairly split the money without people complaining about what other people get. Of course it if we could agree on a system /algorithm then it could work and it would provide extra motivation and no ones gonna argue with a few extra quid in their back pocket. (Plus its not like we don't deserve it for working on a game like this, its just hard to figure out). | |

| I dont think advertising is something we should do. I'm not completelly against geting money for specific things we really need, but i dont think advertising is a justified cause.
Geting money for ourselves is a no-go for me. Deciding who gets what amount of money is just impossible, and it will cause much more harm than good.

| Reviving this thread to get it back on track:
For anyone else coming along, we're not talking about money here anymore. We'll just stick to planning out Thrive's social media presence.
For example, the Twitter that we have barely used at all -- what do we do with it? Here's my thinking: Twitter is a great platform to talk to developers -- whether or not those developers end up contributing to Thrive is immaterial, we at least want to be able to talk about interesting procedural generation with interested programmers. So I propose we use Twitter in particular as a soapbox, not only for development updates, but for members of the team who want to (and can) represent Thrive, talking about things, the sorts of things that the kind of programmer we want on the team is interested in talking about.
An example that seems to be working out pretty well is the subreddit. So far it's still mostly people suggesting features or wondering about game progress, but I think we could get more interesting discussion there with time, as more features come online.
Another thing that we seem to be shying away from touching is the Facebook, but I'm not sure what to say about it so I'll shy away from it too.
