New YouTube Channel

So in a few different threads we've been discussing whether we need a new youtube channel. We kinda need a  conclusive decision, so let us know what you think in this thread.

I think we should register a new channel under revolutionary games. Remember this is for the URL, the actual channel title we can change whenever. So it will be youtube/user/WHATEVERweCHOOSEhere.

I don't mind helping to manage the channel.

It might be a good idea to add a poll to this thread with different name options to see where everyone stands on this. Also, we have a Thrive Gmail account: revolutionarygamesstudio@gmail.com (which is linked with the official Thrive Email: thrive@revolutionarygamesstudio.com) to use so we can all manage the channel. I've given the password for the Email to several members, and if you want to help manage the channel I can send it to you as well.

Ah cool. Yeah we should definitely set up the youtube channel using that email if possible.

What are our options for names, /revolutionarygames /thrivegame /revogames /rg or something?

And yeah sure that would be good.

I vote for use of the revolutionarygamesstudio@gmail.com username to create a Thrive YouTube at YouTube.com/user/RevolutionaryGames.

EDIT: It surprisingly isn't taken yet. I say we go for this ASAP.

Wait!! We need it to be done on the right email, which you don't have access to. By ASAP I meant within a day or two. We also need confirmation from ~scio!

Which is the right email? I used the revolutionarygamestudio@gmail.com one. The page is there, but the url doesn't show up when i try and search for it. I'll leave it to someone else to sort out if you want, I don't want to get ahead of myself. I think a video has to be uploaded before the channel is properly created.

Why a new channel?

So that it coincides with our "studio" name. It would be better to sort this out sooner rather than later. I'm sure there were some other reasons too, but I can't remember just atm.

Who runs it?

It would be run by everyone with access to the email, so probably all the moderators, plus me, you and Oliver.

Unfortunately all the work I did for the channel is thrown away.

No it won't. It will still exist. We just need a new channel. This is just a thing that has to happen for us to look as professional as possible.

And what was so unprofessional mine? the name?

Not that the name was unprofessional, it just wasn't the best representation of Thrive. Also now all the people who need to have access.

Its nothing personal Doggit, you've done an excellent job with the channel, but we need to try and have as professional front as we can.

I do not share this, but the majority wins.
I hope at least to have the possibility of being one of those people that can access the channel.

Theres no need to sound offended. This is just a renaming. I see no reason why you wouldn't have the password and continue to upload and use the channel just like you do.

When the new channel will be open?

I'm not offended, but probably you have not spent the time that I've dedicated to the channel (see your registration to the forum). But it does not matter.

I care about doing things in a democratic way. If the community decides to do so, but one thing I'd like to have is the password of the site to continue to manage and upload videos.

For my old channel I decided that I will use for the Italian community of the game giving news in Italian.

I do understand that you will have put hours and hours into uploading to the channel and stuff. I have my own channel so I know how long it takes.

I wouldn't mind using either thing, so my vote is blank.

The decision is probably already taken so I decided to make this video.

Ok well, I guess we can start uploading vids to the new one then if that vid is up. I'll PM you the password. If it would be quicker for you to upload vids into a dropbox or something I don't mind uploading to youtube and stuff.
