| Hello again! I have a suggestion, and is that we can create the creature stage basing in the spore prototype called "SPUG", i'm not saying to copy it, im just saying about basing in it to create the stage I hope that my suggestion helps in the game development

-Max I played it too. Oddly entertaining. Now, the problem with basing Thrive's creature stage (called the Aware Stage) is that, well, SPUG, being a prototype, is inherently nothing more than a test of concept; how the player's going to do this, what creatures'll do in their environment, etc. It does have some good ideas Thrive could pick up on, such as the "win" feature to invest in intelligence; something Spore did away with in exchange for gameplay progression, but something that it would make sense to use (by editing the nervous system in the Organism Editor, and have a final "upgrade" that would start the Awakening Stage). Of course, the rest doesn't have much to integrate or relate to what the Aware Stage will be other than the fact that SPUG's one-point-per-editor-visit is similar to Thrive's idea for having a given amount of Mutation Points every Organism Editor visit. The Microbe Editor, too. Also, it's going to be a lot more complicated than just spending those points on skills; rather than just upping the "defense" skill as in SPUG, Thrive'll have something more like Spore where you incorporate something like a plate of armor to your creature, although it doesn't add "defense" points, but it just puts a spot on your creature that doesn't get hurt when something attacks it. Also, there's the thing that Spore kind of missed in that parts have tradeoffs. Imagine, in SPUG, every time you invested into defense, you wound up losing a point of speed unless you invested into "support," which would get your speed point back. That's basically what happens with larger or armored creatures; you may have made them harder to kill, but you need to support the body you made heavier. It's like building a tank; you can't support all that strong armor with tiny little wheels! Oh, also, um, little questions like this that aren't made for discussion should go into that Misc. Bugs and Questions thread. Kind of a stickler the moderators have. Just look to the right, it's probably there in the "latest topics" bar. Or, you could ask it on Thrive's subreddit; I don't think the moderators have a problem with just asking questions there. | |

| Something that i didn't said is that my original idea was to do the same thing but basing in GonzagoGL, NetCity or Tidepool, but then i said that it was a bad idea... Also, i have another idea, but for the space stage. Well, to be exact, my idea is basing in some of the spore prototypes to create Trive prototypes. Sorry for my bad english.... | |
