I like the style in the song Frog Empire. I finally was able to get a scoring down for the thrive theme. I wanted to just do the melody to see how you guys liked it. Unfortunately I was lazy and I just have it in sheet music for interpretation. Maybe I'll get a MIDI of it later.
And I apologize for the width.

I liked the song especially the background percussion. But it didn't sound entirely loopable.

Could've been better. It sounds like an opening, but incomplete.

Well I'll try scoring the whole thing if you think it's okay.

Develop the violin and scrap the rest, I'd say : P

I'm liking this so far. Looks simple, but easily modified. I don't know much about transposition for strings, but i do have a few questions. First, are the two low lines playing the same concert note or a different one? Actually, are all the strings here in the same key? That saves a bunch of questions. If they are playing different notes, make sure the viola or violin part creates a chord. Waiting for that MIDI.

The reason I made this in string quartet format was to make it easy to identify bass, chord and accompaniment parts. The melody is in F and none of the instruments are transposing they have separate clefs though. The bass and Treble you probably would know but the C Clef is for the viola. I suppose I made it slightly confusing but all this can be cleared up by the midi I got.
Oh and the bottom Basses Make up chords to follow the Melody. The Violin Cello is playing the 3rd interval of each of the Contra basses notes.

I like the backgrounds, but the melody doesn't seem right. We need a good main theme, and probably a quiet intro.

Also, I'm trying to get a friend of mine to attempt writing a theme. He's interested, but he doesn't have any recording equipment, anyone have any suggestions?

I've whipped up a cell stage theme (Or possibly a cellular editor theme)

Wow. This is... Well... Pretty much perfect. Hell, it's nuetral enough that you could very easily repurpose i for other editor use by changing the background noises. My only complaint is that it gets a bit repetitive. Try adding a little variation in the middle.

Well, if you want a quiet intro, I suggest just continuing that background beat on its own for a while.

I want you to listen to this. Now ignore the fact that it is a remix of TF2's spy snorting and saying "Butt Secks" and look at it objectively. It has several variations, a painfully catchy tune, and slowly builds from humble to epic. That's the kind of theme we need.

I like that, pezz. Maybe make it more ambient? The sound effects are good.

I make som music myself and can make some simple guitar and synth music. You know when you're in the game and building you planet or what you will be doing... It's epic! And that should the music also be!
I don't have any sample, but will fix that as soon as I can, and would love to help develop this game!

I did. I agree that we need a main theme that can have a lot of variations.

Does any one know hang drums? When I listen to them I kind of think Thrive straight away.
I don't know what you think but I think it can adapt to any part of the game.

Yeah Organic sounds are generally better than synth so long as they are not distracting and they can pitch properly. If I owned those drums Albalrogue I probably would try to make something like that but I don't have spare money.
