That sounds fantastic- I actually like it better than the original. i would prefer if you put up links in concert with our official releases, which will go through ModDB

@~sciocont I'll update the site as soon as the first official release on ModDB goes up. I can't update it a lot as it takes a while to upload all the files and set them all up, which is probably another reason why EE is such a good idea for the website's future.
@WilliamstheJohn Wow, thanks! Even I didn't think it was that good! If you really think it's good enough, I've just had an idea that we could use different iterations of the theme for momentous points in the game. For instance, the opening could feature hongchong7's original, while other big events, such as gaining sentience, could feature a variation on the theme, maybe with different instruments. I've also quite accidently used the same chord sequence as in the beginning of this theme as in my 'Man on the Moon' theme, albeit transposed. The melody hongchong7 came up with is actually extremely flexible, as we have already seen with only two themes that use it - one grand and epic, the other relaxing and introspective.
@Gawbad The theory that our entire universe is simply a computer simulation has been around for while, although I didn't expect any evidence for it to be discovered. But if you do run a computer simulation using the same laws of physics that we are familiar with, it will more than likely look like ours anyway. And if we are using the same laws of physics for Thrive, we can expect a universe similar to ours to be formed. I remember reading a suggestion someone made on the 'Achievement Brainstorming' thread for inventing computer simulation ('Thriveception', I think they called it). Maybe all universes nest inside each other like fractals. We may be making a game here, but in the process we may discover something about evolution and the universe. For instance, we might find that some animal structures are more likely to appear than others, in which case we should be looking for aliens with those sorts of structures in the real universe.

I'm currently uploading the compilation to Dropbox. It's 30 tracks long, about an hour and a half of music.

No worries, the initial release will be announced through ModDB.

Awesome! However, you may want to make a .zip version for those on ModDB as not everyone has/wants 7Zip.

On my side it says it is a .rar, which everyone should be able to open. Actually, every decompressing program i've come across is able to decompress prety much any format anyway.

Really? I'm on Windows 8 and it doesn't allow me to decompress it without 7Zip.

Ok, you need an external program (windows alone isnt able to decompress it, while it can work with zip). However, nearly any program will do the job. Here is a list of all the decompresing programs that will do the job: link.
Althrough i agree that as .zip is compatible with plain windows, you should look into recompresing and reuploading it as zip.

Will try to do this, but the ModDB update is going up with a link to the .rar right now. The news should be authorized soon and our first update will be ready.

Also, I should have said this in my last post, but I've now passed 42 posts. Maybe the question was, 'How many posts did Oliveriver have on the Thrive forums before his 43rd?'

My idea how mini-maps could function:
In microbe stage, there wont be minimaps. In multicellular, aware and awakening stage mini maps will be small, and more inteligent your creature is, they will show more things behind them. When you get to society, concept gets more interesting: Unlike Spore, where you can automaticaly se anything, in Thrive (similiar to Civilization, or Anno games) Parts of screen and mini map wont be shown unitl you send at least one unit to that place. Defined by their sight range, it will show space around sended unit (if your organism has low sight range, circle showing stuff around them will be small, and if your organism have high sight range, circle around them will be big. Place what you explored will be shown on mini maps and screen even when there is none of your units at it. Unitl you deveplov cartography, or geography, places will again be shown as unexplored after some time (if you dont go to them often). This would fix problem spore had: RTS mode was like ,,you can go everywhere'' like in observer mode.
What about idea?

There are no specific threads on it. Instead, it is listed in the Research and Inventions List, as well as mentioned in several other threads.
I was able to dig up the thread I discussed it on, it was in the same month I first joined.
