So you're suggesting a 'next of your species born' instead of a 'take control of closest relative'? That makes sense, i think. I'd rather control the organism from birth, too.

What about "next of your relatives born", and if you have no relatives, then "next of your species born"?

I think being spawned in control of a relative is a good idea, and if you die before mating, that's a punishment in itself- if you die after mating (and in many cases giving birth), then you've pretty much accomplished your task in nature.
