Not to dampen your spirits or anything, but this is exactly the sort of conversation appropriate for our subreddit and ridiculously out-of-place for the forums.

Furthermore, a lot of these suggestions are trivial and do little to enhance gameplay. Reaching the edge of the universe may be a cool thing to think about in terms of experience, but what function would it actually serve? Same goes for many of these ideas unfortunately.

Sorry Oliver! I couldn't resist drawing the rainbow unicorn (and talking about ideas). I'll go to the subreddit from now on.

No worries, and I apologise for interrupting. Conversations like this are fine as long as they take place outside the core area of development, as wild speculation like this doesn't exactly scream professionalism.

I think it is time to ask this,how will organs work?Can they be randomized?Or insta-death if something the player made isn't right?etc.

I believe it was meant to be a node and tube system or something like that. A node being the mouth connected to the stomach node by the throat tube.

Yep! Pretty sure there's semi-set organs; as far as I know you've got a set of basic templates (for when the simplest form of the organ first evolves) and you can fine-tune it from there. Not sure about randomizing, but that sounds like something that could happen if need be.

What do you guys think about humor in Thrive? That being, Easter Eggs, jokes in the text, or other silly things like that. Kind of an odd subject, but I had wondered if Thrive would be entirely serious or have it's funny moments, too.

I guess it's too early to tell, but I think it would be neat to have those kinds of things. An example would be finding a very Earth-Like planet filled with slightly off-versions of Earth animals (a cow with a slightly off-center face), and a sentient race there whom are literally monkeys with typewriters or something stupid like that. Text for achievements would also likely be somewhat humorous.

I dunno, this was just a thought I had. It would probably break the immersion a little bit, but I'd guess these events would be pretty rare. What do you guys think?

1. From what I know, not TOO much discussion has revolved around ascension (though I haven't searched for any threads yet), but it is decided that after your species becomes Barney-Qs or whatever else your race will be, you can pretty much do anything.

2. If you are ascended, yeah, probably.

3. If you did, nearby aliens could never stop partying. This would cause a tear in the space-time continuum and ultimately destroy the universe. Though you could probably still do it.

1. Once again, haven't heard any discussion, but I haven't searched the forums yet. Though it is a good idea to house the ascension gate near the center of the galaxy. Though I feel that it shouldn't really be in any defined place, and finding it is the challenge. Sometimes it may be on your planet's moon, other times, on the other side of the galaxy.

I thought the point of the Ascension Gate was that you build it. Or did I misread?

Well, I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be built (something that turns you into living energy probably wouldn't show up in nature), but it'd need a colossal energy source... A super-massive black hole COULD do the trick, if that's how they work. Not to mention the energy needed for the God Tools, although the player, being living energy at that point, could power them himself/herself.

also, one thing that nagged me about spore is that in the tribal stage, there are tribes of different species, but when the Civ stages comes about, the other species tribes just disappear.

Just a black hole? That's to easy the player will be able to do that within 5 mins of the game, we need the player to need multiple sources! The player needs to be able to learn how to sustain a star forever which is the one of the highest techs. Using this power the player pumps a super red giant to make it survive and grow into the ultra super omega red giant which the core will have stable isotopes of atoms with huge atomic masses. Using this you will have to use the isotopes to knock super black holes into each other. When the black hole stops decaying you are left with a super-massive radioactive that emits a ultra particle, when this particle reacts with neutrons it gives off a particle with a negative mass which as everyone knows is used to make worm holes. Then you have to use this until you find a worm hole that leads to a universe where anti-matter dominates. You then have to do this enough until you open a worm hole into a anti-matter super giant. When your scientists have discovered the higher levels of physical dimensions they will created a huge 9d printer able of moving and placing photons in a crystal arrangement, using this technology combined with the large amount of special particles the player can create the "tesseract". The tesseract can then be tuned to create a ultra dense particle field that doesn't interact with anything but a single material which will be used in the generators for infinite power in a very tiny area. We then use this to open the Ascension Gate which is a time portal where they can take any technology with them including all kinda of strange anti-matter technology and any particle fields that the player can create with the 9d printer. Best of all the player doesn't even realize what hes doing because its normal tech, the tree to get the 9d printer allows the player to get lightsaber like weapons and armor, creating high isotopes with the supernova gives the player's space ships or cities infinite power. And the tesseract gives the entire universe infinite energy. The accension gate allows you to warp to any stage giving new game+ with new special parts, and if you get new game+ again, you fight ai with the new super op parts. AND THERE WILL BE ZOMBIE DRAGONS!
