Sorry to bother you, but where did you get it from? I haven't heard anything about a pre-release.
Revolutionary Games website. It's technically a full-on release, but, eh.
If you're expecting the NPC microbe's AI to be the same, you're in for a, shall we say, predatory surprise... heheheh...
Thanks! And... nise 1 m8 B)
Edit: How exactly do you achieve reproductase? A guide of what all the compounds do and how to make certain compounds would be nice, also.

That doesn't seem to be a problem for me, either. Something ain't right here.
If you click on the help icon ("?," I think), it tells you that the limited points is to simulate evolution as a gradual process. Still, a debug command for this would be pretty helpful.
Yes, I now that, but I thought that the main menu editors are for editing whatever aberration your imagination is capable of concieve, and that the mutation points are for the ingame editors. So, if I am playing through the microbe stage, and I reproduce, I should have 100 MP. If I go to Main Menu microbe editor I shouldn't have limits to what I can do.

See those rainbow hexagon compounds? That's ammonia. Gather some of that, and it, along with a couple other ingredients, will be used in your cell to make ammino acids, which you use for reproductase.
If you look in the game files (definitions, I think), there's one of those documents you can click that gets brought up in your browser. You can find the recipes in it, but I don't know about the compound definitions. You can find the names for the NPCs, too.

Ah, thanks. Still though, a guide or something should probably be provided as to not scare off newcomers.

Maybe a little cinematic that explains the different compounds and such? Like as you get close to a certain compound for the first time during a playthrough triggers a cinematic explaining what the compound is and what it's used for.

Non-intrusive gameplay mechanics is a big deal; a cinematic could break up the flow, ruining immersion. This was decided in a discussion on this forum (and that discussion was on stage progression alone; imagine one very few minutes!). An in-game guide, or maybe something kind of like Spore's spyglass except with compounds, wouldn't obstruct as much.
Still, who knows, it may work well in-practice. Not to mention how purdy it'd be.

It looks very nice! I really liked the order in which you displayed it and the ending was fantastic. Ways I think it can improve: 1: A different font would be useful for making it look more Thrive-ey. I'm not sure if there currently IS a Thrive font in place anywhere, but if there is, you should try to get and use that.
2: More text throughout the video describing what is going on on-screen would work well.
3: The planet's clouds are a bit low resolution so it doesn't fit well with the rest of the planet, is that something you can change?
4: The camera pans a bit too quickly during the end, try making it go a bit slower.
Keep up the great work!

1) Ok, I found the font called "thrive" in the thrive game, and copied in my window's font folder. Now I have changed the font in the trailer. It is a bit more difficult to read, but it is much more "thrivey"
2) Can you be more specific in what text to add, and where?
3 and 4) I didn't create the original CGI animations. They where created for previous trailers, so I can't change the definition of the clouds, ore the camera pan.
I will upload a new video with the changes once more people suggest more changes.

1: Good. I'm looking forward to seeing it! It might also be beneficial to add a space background during the beginning parts with text.
2: Y'know, like... "Collect compounds to survive!" when you create a "mouth" to hoard compound producers in, "Evolve your microbe!" during the part where it shows you editing the microbe, "Fight other microbes!" when a microbe is killed. It also might be good to put "prototype footage" or something like that throughout the gameplay footage and maybe "concept animation" during the animation parts.
3 and 4: Ah, I see. That's fine then.
EDIT SO I DON'T HAVE TO DOUBLE POST: So, I had a thought, what if by nature your species was peace-loving, generally kind and all of them wanted to work together (essentially alien Barneys)? Wouldn't that make stages like society and awakening stage pushovers?

Excuse me for interrupting but I just thought: For example would it be possible to be in the aware stage while another species is in the awakening stage and get hunted by them for food?etc.

That's actually been discussed, and the differing time scales of the different stages would mean that with the much longer representation of days in Aware Stage would involve the more advanced species being in the Industrial stage one day, and the next they've Ascended from your view in Aware Stage.

Probably a better thing to think about would be what random events make sense for the microbe stage.
For example : A civilisation on your planet has pumped x billion tonnes of CO2 in to the atmosphere, changing the chemistry of the oceans (in fact there could be a lot of "changed the chemistry of the oceans events")
Or
Asteroid strike, new alien species introduced.
Or
New volcanic ridge forms
Now I don't know if we want to go down the road of introducing random events to the microbe stage however I like random events that mix things up a bit. It would be a much more productive thing to discuss than later stages.
If you are interested maybe start a reddit thread and have a discussion there.

@ Scottnov Sorry, what do you mean by pushovers?

I guess that wasn't the proper term, was it? Really, what I meant is that they would be too easy. I mean, you'd have to progress tech wise and avoid the destruction of the race by natural causes, but one of the main "goals" of the stage would be accomplished immediately. I thought of a possible workaround though. Maybe if you evolved Space Barneys, some of the Barneys would break off and create some sort of massive evil organization after your race takes certain actions?

That was something that I had thought of, too. Except the thing is, if your species was completely co-operative with one another, most of these disasters would be easily solved because of the extremely rapid tech advance. The only thing I think could cause significant problems would be the "Asteroids with Aliens" scenario you proposed. But even then your race would probably pound them before they could do much about it due to advanced technology.

Presumably, he meant that the stages would be very easy since your species wouldn't be fighting each other like we do, so the player could focus on other matters with the ludicrous amounts of resources available due to a lack of wars, not to mention everyone's be sympathetic to each other. The whole game'd be turned on its head.
EDIT: D'oh, ninja'd.

@Lepticidio I've taken some of your footage and ideas (along with gameplay from this guy's gameplay video, which we should be able to get permission for), to make another concept for the trailer:
Technically, I did cheat slightly with the music as it's a Multicellular Theme instead of a Microbe one, but I think it fits a little better.
Also I suggest the final trailer should be uploaded to the official Revolutionary Games channel.

It looks amazing! It fits the atmosphere of Thrive very well. I still think there needs to be a disclaimer somewhere like "the following is prototype footage" or something though.
Also, I had a side thought, instead of "Will you thrive?" being displayed during the middle, perhaps just before the planet scene plays it can say something like "Every species as a whole tries endlessly to survive. Adapting, hunting, feeding, reproducing...", wait a few seconds, then display "But the most important question is...", wait a bit longer this time, "Will you thrive?". I just thought this sounded more "Oh man. This game will be amazing when it get's going".
