The trouble is without a background to work with, i don't know what will. On white the cells look a lot more solid than they do on black or green, for instance. Someone want to do a concept of what the backdrop would look like, and i'll try them out on that? If you're using GIMP, put them on top of a layer of plasma noise. That should give you a wide range of test background colors. Well, i can use a cloud effect (some people got Photoshop last christmas, Scio :p ). But i really wanted to use something that would be really relevant. Didn't you guys discuss what the background would look like somewhere? Did anybody do any concept art?

| I think any green slimy texture from Google pictures would do the job. | |

The background is basically an RGB gradient with a b/w gradient determining lightness. you can do this with simple gradients. one horizontal, one vertical.

| I've done another one with just the alkali (or base...) - neutral - acid colours. - Spoiler:
They're the only colours the cells really need to look any good on. Red, orange, and yellow aren't really necessary. P.S. If anyone here has a slow internet connection, sorry, I've yet again doubled the loading time. Although, if the problem is in any way major you'll just be skipping this thread by now anyway, so you won't be reading this...

| I made three backgrounds using tiles I found on google images. The third one is pretty bad, that was the first one I put together. https://imgur.com/UKGUD,OmlVG,vb17Z Tell me which ones you guys like best. |

https://imgur.com/UKGUD,OmlVG,vb17Z Tell me which ones you guys like best. They seem really bright. I personally think that if #1 or 2 was coloured blue it would be pretty much perfect.

| Yeah, I was going to recolour one or two, but there wasn't much point if nobody liked them, so I put them up first. |

| Okay, done. https://imgur.com/EXkmf And it's a tile, so it can be placed next to itself and will look like one picture. |

| So this is the most promissing topic I've found! Can I help with anything? I still have some information about cells and I'm installing 3ds max in this laptop right now. Edit: Can't install the 3D Studio... | |
