| For the speed of sound and the speed of light suggestions, my meaning was basically simulating this by:
Speed of sound - having a delay, getting longer the further away the source of the noise is. Speed of light - similarly having a delay, but on the appearance of things (e.g. if a distant star becomes a supernova, you would see it only when the light reaches you, in in-game time, of course, because this would take years)
These wouldn't really affect gameplay, they would just add realism that you wouldn't normally think about including in games, which might look pretty good. Of course, they should be optional if they are considered. FTL travel can still be included, though it really would be faster than light if we include a speed of light.
A light-speed delay on communications is an interesting idea for gameplay, though.

| Ahh, ok. I though you were refering to sound barrier and relativism physics.
That ones would be more or less easy to implement.
For sound, we can, once a sound is going to bo played, calculate the distance to the player or the camera, divide that distance by the speed of sound and play that sound with the delay calculated. The only other thing i can think that could affect sound is doppler effect, but in my opinion we should ignore it.
For light, we can do a similar thing. It is a bit harder than sound. Anyway, even if we just place a random sky screen instead of the true generated stars, probably noone would notice.
Again, i though you were refering to relativism, which negates FTL.
The light speed delay in comunications is easy, but upgrades should allow for instant comunications eventually. We are close to that, as quantum teleportation is proven to be possible, wich can be used to send information.

| I will notice if the skybox doesn't match generated stars, because you will hopefully be zoom in and out seamlessly, which means at some point the real stars will need to be rendered. | |

| Actually, stars are so far away one another that in order to go from one to other we will probably need to make a loading screen, or any effect to speed up the process, snd you wont be able to keep track of the stars that way.
Anyway, i was refering to the view from the surface of the planet.

| I agree that we may want some sort of transition between star systems. I've been thinking about what to do between star systems for a while now. If we did something like spore's system, the player could be there a while. What if we had an interstellar travel system like Star Trek Online (provided you had the technology for it) where you are free to move about star systems to reach planets, but for interstellar travel, we essentially wing it? |

| Actually it has been discused that for interestelar travel we would implement various tecnologies to make travels fit into game-play. Some have been planned, like FTL, Hyperspace and teleportation. If you want to suggest an extra one, you will need to explain it a bit more. | |

| Don't know whether or not this has already been asked or suggested. Any thoughts on echo-location/ biosonar? | |

Yes, and a visual filter when in creature mode in order to make it feel deeper is probable to be as well. (Depth vision)

| Another idea, again I don't know whether this idea has been suggested or discussed. Are there any possibilities for symbiosis between an organism and bacteria? | |

You were explaining a transition between star systems though, so I elaborated on that idea. I didn't suggest a new technology. |

From multicellular onwards*, we wont be simulating bacteria, for fairly obvious reasons. However, certain organs could make use of bacteria to fulfil their role, though this would only be shown in the description. Any organic weapons in the tech tree may also be said to make use of bacteria, though that's not quite so close of a relationship as symbiosis. *I don't think they will even be in cellular, though I have heard the idea suggested. Disease will still be included, but will be simulated using random chance and intensity fields.

| Anybody suggested hybrid species? Obviously the offspring would be infertile so the hybrid would die out nearly instantly but it could be a fun addition to the game. Feedback? | |

Not worth implementing.

Not worth implementing. Didn't really think it through much... plus there's no point in adding kingdoms, phylums, classes, etc... So hybrid creatures wouldn't even be possible unless you created it yourself.

| Ah, ok.
I think we will need lots more of music (and sounds) for the game, but we need to know what music we need.
What about layered music? I mean music that is composed from multiple layers and we can freely add or remove some of them to add tension, or other to add other effects.

| In this period I'm a bit busy, but soon I start composing other music. This time I want to make thems the various political currents (monarchy, communism ...).
So I must know exactly how many there are current and which ones are

| Government is not that simple. the player doesn't just pick "Monarchy" or "Communism" (which isn't even a government form). What the player does do is pick the structure of the Leadership of the country, and pick the Legislature. This means there are countless combinations of governments possible, with several being similar to feudal monarchies or single-party dictatorships, like what you mentioned.
So ultimately, make the music anyways, based off of any simplified governments you can think of (such as monarchy, democracy, etc.), and we will decide which themes apply to which combinations.
EDIT: Also, I though music depends on the setting, not the government of the player. Although, that would be neat.

| Hey guys, haven't been on for a while, sorry about that. Just a random idea, what if we do scenarios? I mean like, you start in the jurassic, surrounded by dinosaurs, and you have to, starting from the bottom, being like an ant or something, and you have to work your way up to top predator. It's just an idea I got from the game civilization 5. | |
