Will there be an option to have a hive mind of sorts? Or would that be too difficult to implement.

| Sorry what i meant to say is: once you get to "god mode' you should have a choice of raising a certain species into "swarm mode" with you as it's hivemind basicly it would play out like any RTS;Tell your swarm where to go You can't either wait and hope they do the right thing or go in your god and it's becomes an Rts battle But maybe with larger unit caps and bigger fields, and once you win you could either make the planet a base or devore it for resources. The selling point of this mode is that your numbers are basically endless swamping enemies with small "worker units" while bigger units takes out the buildings and such. The possibilities are real sortof endless you could choose to be : Nomadic:going from place to place Hivemakers: Once a few "eggs","spores" however you reproduce lands on a planet They start to shape the terrain to make a large scale hive think like ailens vs predator games. Raiders: Land on a ship take said ship think like dead space
And my final and favorite Zerging:All of those above plus unending hunger Or whatever your reason was to uplift the spices in the first place You makes hives ran in ships fly in large bioships.
Also will bioships Be possible like the Tyranid hive tendril?

| I like the idea. I like it a lot. However, I think you should also just be able to do this with your own species. | |

Oh Ok then so you don't kill off your own kind Ok I Can get behind it I mean once god mode you could go on taking over the galxys as tyranids have devored 10 galaxys before Then that leads to a queston: what do after eat everything since stuck in 1 galaxys"

| ok now on to Symbiosis
From another thread
say you start as a cell with decent offense. you have little energy, and have to hunt and fight to survive. but then you meet one of those tasty cells that focus on defense, and have a lot of energy stored away in their bodies. you come to an alliance. The storage cell supplies you with extra energy, while you defend it. soon, you both multiply and you could have a circle of defensive cells around the storage cells. eventually, the outer ring merges to create a primitive multicellullar organism.
Now say you find a creature it stores food in its "hump" or hive or other Say you could go around and you see its little food storer "friend" being attacked and instead of standing their and letting whatevers attacking You drive it away attack it or whatever and your little storer relaxes around you and lets you take food and such and live with it they feed you,you protect them, until you evolve maybe they evolve with you So just a crazy thing I was talking about

I am suggesting a mechanic that could work Symbiosis it's real exists and might be fairly easy to put in not like the spore relations counter Well i like it's exactly like that help out a lower creature a few times and split into a race that lives side by side with a smaller "worker" race *edit Belgium that -3 is not going to help me hmmmmm.. Any why i could change that to a +3 again Implying it was ever that

| Yes, I know symbiosis is real, but you don't think that we have already discussed such a prevalent natural pattern already? Of course it will be there. | |

But how I see no posts unless it's in the aware stage posts And how would one go about doing symbiosis is it similar to the way i described or something else.

| Just a quick question I have about your species being 'Uplifted' by another space faring one, I haven't seen much information on it, but then again I haven't done much research of this topic *so forgive me if this has already been covered in a myriad of ways *. Would an alien spaceship crashing on your world, keeping some of its components intact, count being 'Uplifted'? Could it also be possible to almost reverse-engineer, or use some of those components as tools or weapons, even if that is not their intended use *But maybe still a much more effective tool/weapon than anything you currently have*? For example, if for some odd reason, humans crash land a supply ship on an alien world, and its primitive inhabitants discover the Cheese Grater in the wreckage and use it... well I don't know, as a swinging weapon? Its not the best example, but you get the idea. | |

| Of course! I think it would mainly be based on the current level of technology. If you are barely sentient, it may help you discover fire. If you are an industrial-age Civilization, it may give you knowledge of electricity, and if you are a modern Civilization, it might give you knowledge of interstellar travel, etc. | |

| Ah thanks, but I also have another question. How will Uplifting work? Is it simply an alien craft taking a pit-stop on your planet and giving you a device of ultimate power, making you and your kind intelligent as heck? Or will it be a slower event, taking time, they slowly teach you things, but much faster than normal evolution? Or maybe this question can't be answered, now that I think of it. From my knowledge of Thrive, anything *to an extent* can happen. | |

| That depends on the situation. If the space faring species is intentionally give you inteligence (and they have the power of doing so), you might get quite inteligent. Probably they wont change your species fisionomy, as the player is the one in charge of that, but they might let you go into a very wild mutation where you can nearly change anything from your body (as Spore did for every mutation) alowing to get to a sentinent stage much quicker.
If you are alredy sentinent, they might give you some tech intentionally (but probably not TOO much, as species take some time to get used to new tech and assimilate it) up to the point you are, as a gift. They might exange it for something else (like for example, a ship comes, gives you tecnology in exchange of all the uranium on the planet) or for tecnology even, if tech levels are close (that would be handled by diplomacy). That last one will be frequent if multiple species happen to get to sentinent at the same time in the same planet.
Finally, you could find a crashed vessel from a space civilization. In aware stage (creature), you will be able to play with the tools that might be inside, but they wont make much of a difference in the big picture, as that will all decay at the next mutation (which would consist of millions of years). If you alredy have some tecnology, you might be able to scarvenge some tecnology from it, but that will be hard to decide when can you get different things.

| Subject: How does scaling work? Wed Jun 12, 2013 7:32 pm | |
| I know you've been over this but it everything really to scale? Like if you make an ant sized beast will it stay ant sized or be off? i mean say you make a creature it's the biggest creature on your planet Now is it big or will the bird the size of a rat be bigger than you.
TL:dr Will animals be sized right?

| 1. You don't have to put a tl;dr for three sentences. That is for large walls of text. - Quote :
- will it stay ant sized or be off?
2. Be off? What do you mean? - Quote :
- i mean say you make a creature it's the biggest creature on your planet Now is it big or will the bird the size of a rat be bigger than you.
3. Well you just said its the biggest creature on your planet, so I'm going to make a wild guess and say its big. 4. How can it be the biggest creature on the planet and have a creature larger than it? 5. I have never seen a game change the size of units to mess with the players, so I have a feeling we won't do that. Big is big, small is small. 1 centimeter is 1 centimeter, 1 kilometer is 1 kilometer. No tricks here.

| The scale of animals doesn't truly matter too much. You really won't notice at all. I do remember that the worlds will be bigger than Spore's, but smaller than real life. The animals should be regularly sized though, because even if the six of earth is reduced, as long as gravity remains the same, the animals would be roughly the same size.
Anyway, you won't have any 'normal' to compare the creatures on your world to. So, it doesn't matter. Don't worry about it

| Yet life on Earth has reached enormous sizes, remember dinosaurs, especially during dry periods-larger body stores more food and in the water gravity limitations do not apply the water can support the animals body. Although it won't reach civilization stage. But having the planets gravity affect life on it is great, i didn't know the concept is so complex, that would ensure no two games will be the same. Are you thinking on other influences like magnetosphere, temperature? | |
