I suck at drawing? And a render of a single sphere well detailed would take as long... I could lower the quality and have it noisy and all, but my philosophy is, do it good or don't do it. | |

It's an extremely simple scene- it would actuially be easier to do in GIMP with the sphere render tool and clouds and whatnot. | |

It's an extremely simple scene- it would actuially be easier to do in GIMP with the sphere render tool and clouds and whatnot. Pretty much, but I have a reverse midas touch whenever I try photoshoping or gimping anything. It all turns into Belgium. | |

| As I understood cities will form around these if the factors are right. I cant really work around so many cities ahaha, Maybe Djohaal could help if the render of a whole city doesnt take more than 2 years ;P I'll do one whole settlement later then =) | |

| Well, it doesnt have to be uberdeatailed, remember, simplicity is also an engineering achievement. I'm a little iffy on the size, however I cannot a single reason why such tech would be impossible at all. | |

And a lot smaller. Make the tear 100x bigger (and 3D, you can see the void through it at any angle), to maybe the size of the moon, replace the smoke with... Warped space, and that's the image in my head. Does the image in my head count as concept art? | |

It's just a sketch but it's my idea: inhomogeneous and rough, giving the idea of thousands of millions of metal pieces joined togheter in a planet-sized structure. Those things on right are spaceships.

| These gates are looking epic They kind of remind me of Halo though (Big ring/disc like objects in space) If I had any drawing skill to speak of I'd probably draw one too

| While I definately approve of the ascension gate being that size, I feel we're too uncreative. Gotrol's version is my personal favorite, as it feels suitably unique. | |
