It'll all have a certain level of transparency.

OBJECTION!I think the problem with the Thrive logo being the save button is that people won't know what it does until they click it. Will it make their computer crash? Will it turn you into an all-knowing god? Will it change your creature's color? Will it Thrive?

Will it change your creature's color? Will it Thrive? Ok. However, if you really are that desperate to have it somewhere on-screen you can have it in the corner. But thinking about it, it's not a half-bad idea if you have some text show up possibly next to it when you roll your cursor over it. It could say "Options" or "Save" or something like that. But personally I think the Save function would be in the Options menu like Spore!.

I agree. I think we should be able to click the simple colour health indicator button on the proposed UI, and the game pauses and a new interface comes up with the 3D mesh model. So it's not part of the UI, so it can't clash, but it is there. EDIT: Been said in another thread. Several times. Eh, it's a good idea then

| That GUI is epic. As for health, how about something a little fallout 3-esque. As in when your limbs are damaged too much they are crippled and you limp, and when your head is damaged your vision blurs.

A little drone concept out of the blue, gives a little idea towards the AI race which is possible in thrive. (As seems to be according to the forums)

| I’ve just recently read the SC outline and, from where I stand, a persistent “architecture” would be a nice addition to the concept.
So below is how I visualize the evolution of a nomadic or semi nomadic culture and “Hive “insect culture.

| Dyson spheres concept art. An advanced alien race encases several stars on a budding nebula with the purpose of harnessing their incredible ammount of energy. Sorry for the abysmal quality but a better render of this would take... forever. (4 hours and 50 minutes to be exact!) | |

| Sort of looks like they are being viewed from in a planets atmosphere... In that case, those dyson spheres are huge! A bit too huge to collect the stars' energy effectively though...
The effects are good, realisticness is questionable... But still, call me the critical commenter, I'm criticising something that I suppose doesn't have to be realistic anyway... It is good from an artistic point of view!

Yeah, that's a ton of noise. Really easy setup, too. Nice work.

Scio are you going to put this up on the art section of our site? Please pleease? No. It's good but it's low quality, and extremely simple.

| Sorry for the double postage, but I guess this needs a bump . - Spoiler:
Half-finished though. It took some 12 hours to render up to this half and the rendering speed is only going down. I hope resume render works properly later.

Too much mathematics it has to do to calculate those volumetric lights. I'm not even sure if I'll get to finish it because it slows down to a crawl in the middle of the image... If someone has VUE 8 and a computer that can stay a week rendering nonstop I could send the scene file ( it is completely procedural, just a couple of kilobytes) to render...
