| More MS paint stuff! - Spoiler:
Contains two alien animals, a six-legged herbivore with tentacle-mouth (i kind of drew inspiration from Lovecraftian stuff, Cthulhu and all) and a gliding, larger than a man exoparasite that uses it's proboscis to suck the bodily fluids from it's victims, leaving smaller creatures sucked dry. It also has only two limbs which end in sharp bony spikes which it uses to grapple and wound it's prey and a whip-like tail, used both defensively and offensively, capable of choking and even breaking bones with a powerful snap :3

| I drew a quick sketch of an organism, which I have also used for a concept race. This image shows it standing on a sand dune overlooking the ocean as the planet's moon sets. It's by no means the best it could be, but I hope to improve it soon. - Spoiler:

| As a celebration that i got finally unbanned! Hoorah I drew some more alien stuff things, this one contains two different creatures from the same species, one male, other female. I tried making the female look like a female without drawing boobs on it which is for some reason unusual, because in most modern games even non-mammal races have breasts. - Spoiler:

| Another MS paint drawing thing. Alien creature that's whole body is covered in rock-like plates. It has no eyes, sees through something similar to echolocation and feeds through a mouth apparatus that's located under the face. - Spoiler:

I dont know if its "alien enougth", but it isnt hi-tech (just technological) or extreme "biological" alien. The design could be used for one of the "preset" cultures or techs. I tried to stick to an underwater feel.

| Hey there, artists!
A word of caution upfront: we are still a long way off from implementing fancy graphics and animation. That said, I may have a mission for you. You see, when I'm programming anything graphic, say, a GUI, I like to have a complete picture of the final goal. That way, whenever I'm unsure of whether a button should have rounded edges or what color to use for the text, I just refer to that picture. In the end, everything fits nicely together in a unified, pleasing style.
Hashing the overall style out upfront also gives everyone something to look forward to and avoids disappointment when the programmer had a different vision of the style than another team member. Most of the time, programmer's art is... functional, to put it mildly.
So far, all I've seen of Thrive, especially the microbe stage, are bits and pieces. A few microbe models and background pictures and a couple of prototypes with (understandably) bland graphics. What would really help in planning and implementing the graphical side of the game is a complete concept of how the game will look. What do you want to appear on your screen when you are playing?
Since we programmers are currently concentrating on the microbe stage, I'm mainly interested in how you imagine that stage to look. The only restriction I can think of right now is that it should be a top-down view. Other than that, go nuts! Show me what the players will see when they start out with their cell. How does it look when one microbe eats another? How do compounds look when they are floating around? How does it look when a cell divides itself? You can also include interface elements if you want.
Don't worry too much about it being possible to implement. We will get to that later.

| I'll start work on a few mock-up 'screenshot' kind of concepts then, I should be able to get a few done and up on this thread within the next few days. I'm assuming digital is preferred over a traditional medium?
Also, just as a side note, is there anywhere I can get the Thrive font? It'd be really helpful at this stage
