| A few weeks ago I drew a concept art of the evolution of a simple cell to a advanced creature wich is ready to reach sapience. Well, here it is: - Spoiler:
http://www.pic-upload.de/view-21291460/Foto-1.jpg.html At the beginning of the multicelluar stage it develops from a Amobea to some kind of sea-sludge. It starts to develop things like fins or a trunk. The proportions are changing and it grows things like gills on its stomach or a skeleton. http://www.pic-upload.de/view-21291461/Foto-2.jpg.html Later it starts going on land and its fins change into legs. It walks  further and further away from the ocean and begins to develop lungs. After thousands of centuries it is finally ready to reach sapience and go into the socienty stage.
I hope you like it:) | |

I'll have to try that sort of technique in some of my concept arts for here...

| Hey CardoTheTripodKing! It looks like you've tried to link to a file on your local machine. To share it with us you'll have to upload it to a sharing service like Imgur or Photobucket. I'm looking forward to see it! Also, seeing as that was your first post, head on over to the Introductions subforum and introduce yourself. | |

| Well we need to remember to keep the models stylistically similar for consistency, and fairly simple. Don't get me wrong, I like the model just giving you the reason I think he made a recoloring. That and polygon count of course. Speaking of which what is the polygon count for the model? It doesn't look too high, which is good. | |

| Here's an idea, a mudskipper. Â The transition to walk on land from an aquatic fish is perfect for the game. Â And I would like to personally be able to create mudskippers and make populations of them on their own planet just for fun. - Spoiler:

that's more of something that can be achieve ingame, and it doesnt need to be similar to that, it really depends in how the player's creature evolve.....but yeah an amphibian transition has to be done anyways...

A thermoplast has already been created by Thriving Cheese. However, if you want you could make your own version too and we would use whichever one is better. Also, I'm not sure that looks very much like a thermoplast. I know a thermoplast is a completely fictional organelle, but it's basically modelled off of a chloroplast, except orangish/red instead of green. In this case, I would look up what chloroplasts look like, such as: - Spoiler:
- Beware, this one is very large:

Hah you fooled me, some of those edges looked like polygons which is why I made the assumption. As far as thermoplasts go: The difference between mitochondria and chloroplasts internally is that chloroplasts have these disc like granules inside of them while the mitochondria have a folded inside. These differences give some nice internal differences between the two and I like both of your (Tritium and EVanimations) ideas to make the thermoplast as distinct as the other two energy organelles. Though as Nick has said we currently have models for all three of those organeeles, but they are simplistic. I feel like we should use Thriving Cheese's model for at least the early builds as they are fairly simple shapes and textures, but once we start expanding upon these builds I'm sure no one would object to updating these models to become more distinct and visually appealing later.

| Falthron you're making us modelers unemployed again joke aside i get what you say but it won't hurt to start making the models we all would be happy with eventually. After all that's what this thread is about, right? Anyway i'm getting really offtopic here. | |

Anyway i'm getting really offtopic here. Sorry for the derail, my mistake. But yeah, making the models IS helpful. I just don't expect the more complicated models to be included within early builds. Go on modelling them. You are now employed once more.

| Ymedron all art is welcome here but the main point is making art for the actual game itself as it is development forum, that means art for modelers to take hint on what players want to see ingame-models, landscapes everything we would get information about what to make you to see in thrive. Fan art is not for here fan art contributes nothing to the project, a picture of a fish you would like to make means nothing to us, a sketch for a neural system is 100x more helpful a drawing for a sand grain is great help a picture of mitochondria as you imagine it would make us rethink the models we have hope this guides the thread towards the development side instead of fanart showcase as it is now. | |

Mitochondria Sand granules Nerve ideation Is this more like what you had in mind? I'll go look for threads about nerves, I mainly was looking at google and not at all what the plans were for implementing them. Hrm...

| Hey there! Over the last few week I've found some time to do some concept art, here it is: (Click on them to see them bigger) - Spoiler:
A satelite orbiting around a planet with two moons A few ideas for a low gravity-world (Some are based on another concept art for Thrive) Some more SCs for low-gravity A creature in the early awakening stage with some sort of religious symbol Some primitive organisms, maybe at the beginning of aware stage
Hope you like it | |
