Try changing the perspektive to "looking from a planet surface at a overdimansional and colorful moon" or a "Asteriod flying through space"?
You have the talent you just have to try to explore more difficult and creative motives. I know, i already made something like that, but i didn't like it I will try to make something original and creative, BUT not today, i'm tired ... ok i'm not tired, I am just lazy Thanks for the comment

| I'm not sure what adverts we are going to be doing, I think we have one in the Sporum, and maybe some other places (I don't make a habit of searching for adverts), but they are mostly on forums, so usually they are text based.
But good art, anyway. | |

| yes agreed, but i was thinking that showcasing the versatility and complete control you have over you world. That was the biggest draw point for spore, and i think we cant afford to avoid it either. Thinking along those lines we could say contrast two completely different cities generated in the society stage, or two creatures in totally different planet backdrops, so you could see the idea i was getting at through the quick terragen concept. | |

Personally, I want to avoid computer-generated artwork where possible, just because it looks like we're suggesting that this is picture from our own engine. I know it's not that big a deal, but it still kinda bothers me.

| Yeah... given as it's not ours... and we don't have an engine yet... Rex brings up a good point.
Would make a lovely forum background, though.

| Hey everyone! It's been awhile since I've been able to post anything on the forum (college is keeping me too busy!). I don't really have time to help with the programming like I promised when I joined, but I still wanted to contribute, so I drew some alien concept art.
First two are from the same planet (2nd pic shows 2nd creature attacking 1st) https://2img.net/h/i1137.photobucket.com/albums/n513/tklarenb/Untitled-2.png https://2img.net/h/i1137.photobucket.com/albums/n513/tklarenb/5.png
Some other random creatures: https://2img.net/h/i1137.photobucket.com/albums/n513/tklarenb/4.png https://2img.net/h/i1137.photobucket.com/albums/n513/tklarenb/3.png https://2img.net/h/i1137.photobucket.com/albums/n513/tklarenb/2.png
I'm not the greatest artist, but I think these turned out pretty well.

Nice drawings. I didn't see your last post when you made it, somehow, but I like them too. I don't know if this has been done/is the right section or not, but I had some free time so I decided to actually produce a 3d model of the Thrive logo at the top of the forum. Render Image: https://2img.net/h/i132.photobucket.com/albums/q25/MikeyIsMYNameNotYOURS/ThriveLogoModel.png .Blend File: http://www.mediafire.com/?s4blfyisgoutd56 Didn't take too long, I guess, and I was considering doing some sort of animation to make it more cool, or interesting, but I guess I wanted to see if you guys thought it was worth it. The bottom of the R is a little wonky. I guess I could fix it if you think it's necessary.

I can make decent models, but I have a bit of a lack of patience when it comes to very high poly stuff. Could I make High Poly stuff...? Probably, I guess... Maybe I just have a poor modeling method, but it's always such a huge hassle for me to individually move, scale, or rotate each individual ring of vertices to a unnoticeable degree just so the whole can be made more complete; just because in High Poly models there are soooo many of them. I wish I was still using 3dsmax...

| A high poly thrive logo would be great. I know blender is difficult, but it's pretty powerful. I could make a high poly model in sketchup, but it's a pain to export. | |

Just out of curiosity, what would a high poly version of this be used for?

Do you know how to animate it? if not i could do some basic ones such as a simple rotation or something, and with sketchup i found a way to export it into a .dae or .obj that we could use.
