| Hello!
I am an old watcher of this forum who has never posted before, I have been monitoring the development of this fascinating game development process for a wuite while and this concept art section ever since it was page 4 I have just been allotted some harrowingly feeble free time in which I chose to do a little concept work myself for you. I hope I'm not jutting in at an inconvenient place or in the wrong thread for this but I believe this is where this should go... ... - Spoiler:
A quick two hour concept image for the dastardly adventurous Thrive indie project. The piece is hideously unrealistic in many of the biological facets but it serves its conceptual purpose. There are three creatures in this piece (durr!). They are buoyant in the atmosphere of their planet, similar to an airship (or any LTA craft for that matter). The organism in the fore I have nicknamed and "Air Mariner", and the two is the background are "Air Ivy". The Terran (earth) species they most resemble in their various biological systems are those of a jelly fish. I shall elaborate a little more when I am less pooped I have sketched out a rough biological matrix which I shall fill out based on four rational tenants.
-solvent -temperature -pressure -energy source
Unfortunately the thing is very earth-organism-like in more ways than I would like but the concept is demonstrated. I am willing to work on any little tasks that might be of aid, I have a fair amount of time to do this kind of thing
Thank you for reading Liom

| It looks like a little orb with the organs in it, and surrounding the orb is a bubble. Now, if the bubble is filled with air, it could be possible, as the creature could control the pressure in its bubble and therefore change how high it is in the atmosphere. I think it's pretty realistic | |

| Thanks, yeah my expression of dissatisfaction with the thing was more to do with the environment in the piece, the atmosphere of the planet wasn't really correct. But it's good that the concept is displayed in a lucid manner. I am a little bit of an LTA fanatic... | |

Is there any wisdom you can share with us on LTA organisms and how they might work?

| *Waves* I do like the air jellyfish. I'm thinking it's possible in-game, but in a heavier than earth atmosphere. | |

| In case anyone's interested, I've decided to do some promotional concept art for each biome type (desert, forest, open ocean, cave, etc). Right now, the background here is open ocean, and I'm working on forest, which shouldn't take too long. | |

| Is this what you'd call 'good'? (It's not exactly professional artist level...): I didn't have very long at the time, but I came up with a tube shaped creature (similar to a jellyfish, but of course tube shaped) that moves by sending contractions down its body like an oesophagus pumps food, the water being pumped through gets filtered for small sea creatures. (As you can tell, I'm not very good at naming creatures) - Spoiler:
The filter doesn't look very effective. It probably isn't. Imagine them a lot thinner and closer together, and more of them. That's what it should have.

| I really like those. If you could make your tag a bit smaller, I'll put the Thrive logo up on them and post them on ModDB
Also, portions of the images are a bit grainy. I'm assuming that's just because the stock you were using wasn't big enough, but If you could fix that, it would be great. Also, make sure all of the sticks you used were used legally.

| I love your spacey art alot but... why are the motives always a sun being half behind a planet?
Try changing the perspektive to "looking from a planet surface at a overdimansional and colorful moon" or a "Asteriod flying through space"?
You have the talent you just have to try to explore more difficult and creative motives.
