| Well, if you could do some concept sketches of proto-cells (see the original post in this thread), then that'd be a huge help and give me a reason to not do my exam revision. | |

| Ok that all sounds great ^^ now it seems as if your previous "sketches" were made in a 3d modelling program. Would that be the preferred way of making them? I'm not too experienced with modelling but if that's what you guys need I'll see if i can work something out. | |

These are all of them I think... you can see a bit of the next page through them, but it shouldn't matter much.

- Those all look good. Could the shiner be a tad transparent? Actually we should add some transparency to all the cells.
Should i do or should i let it for programming to have easier control over it?

| I would say just make a more transparent set so we have more choices later. Then we can take the first batch or the more transparent ones depending on what fits better. Id perfer more transparent ones.
lets just wait and see what scio says.

The trouble is without a background to work with, i don't know what will. On white the cells look a lot more solid than they do on black or green, for instance. Someone want to do a concept of what the backdrop would look like, and i'll try them out on that?

| You can test them out on a 50% to 60% grey in the meantime, but I'll see if I can whip something up. Given that it's a giant smudge, I should be able to do that, just not tonight or tomorrow. | |

That should give you a wide range of test background colors.

But i really wanted to use something that would be really relevant. Didn't you guys discuss what the background would look like somewhere? Did anybody do any concept art?

The background is basically an RGB gradient with a b/w gradient determining lightness. you can do this with simple gradients. one horizontal, one vertical.
