| Another Terragen Render. Not very Geologically accurate, but alien nonetheless. And I tried Planet Rendering with Terragen 2 Took about 10 hours to render, with not a particularly pleasing result... But here EDIT: And a from scratch space scene (Using a galaxy I made while back ) Not very high class stuff as some of the background spacey things look kinda flat and out of place =/ | |

| I really like the spires, they look interesting, and alien. The round planet one is a bit grainy, but the lighting is great. Looks great. -Waap.

| Loving those spires- great for a low-g planet with llimestone.
Planet is meh, agreed.
If you can flip that galaxy on its side and make it look much more epic, a background it will be.

| I especially like the spire one, not because of the spires, but because of the size of the planet. That's how I imagine in-game planets. | |

If you can flip that galaxy on its side and make it look much more epic, a background it will be. So its as if you are looking at the galaxy side on, or so its up covering the whole image...? Thanks EDIT: I assumed you meant the size of the imgae, played around with it a bit and voila: Its kinda blurry up close and I can see this being a problem =/

| Okay, i didn't read the whole thread (i think that's the first time since we left Svenolutions!), but i've noticed two things: We have a lot of concept art from this Pezzalis guy, and we have a new logo. I must say, i am greatly encouraged by both. I am really impressed with how far you guys have come since i've left.
Scio, maybe you could make a smaller logo with the sun and the gear and a 'T' to use for the forum icons?

| Great idea, alaska.
Pezz, I mean if you create a good-quality picture with that galaxy that is at least 1600*1200 it will be a background. The one you have is 1200*1600 and the one you just posted is too small.

| I've just finished drawing two organisms (animals). I will upload the pictures once I get to a bloody scanner wich will probably be in 3 weeks.
Anyway the first one is a remake of the limagnaticus creature I put on the old forum. It is a large vetebrate that is as high as a rhino and as long a an fully grown anaconda. It has a large skin bubble on it's back wich it fills with blood when it is thretened, wich causes it's skin to turn to a purplely color. It feeds on small animals and plants.
The second one is a "scentient" species called "hackers". They are invertebrate slug like parasites, about the size of a cow's head (not including the tail), that cling on to the head of their host with harpon like claws, digs through the flesh and skull with it's beaked tongue and hacks into the brain via nervs that will fuse with the host's nervous system becoming the new brain. However, the hackers have come to a stage wherr they do not use their host as bodies but machines such as robotic bodies, vehicles, etc...
Yeah, probably quite useless what I just said but it's to give you an idea of what I've done so far.
PS : I'm crap at shading and coloring, so if there is a photoshop wizard or even a good coloror out there, would you color in these pictures once they're on the forum?

| First of all, hello to all
I really like the idea of this project.
Back on topic, I have not seen any "early concepts" drawings here, so I thought I'd make one (15 mins or so)... possibly more in the future.
I'm not really used to drawing for games so dont be too harsh (CONSTRUCTIVE criticism always welcome)

A little "technology" progression.

| Great sketches! I think you underestimate yourself too much.
I really like the cave->walled town->space yard progression. Although it seems quite earth-like, could you do something more original next?

| Oh sure it can be different - just tell me what's the aim, this was only 15 mins anyways )))
I can do more deatailed stuff, this was more of an introduction.
Better to be humble in my opinion Differences in culture maybe? heheheh

| Well, this time I concentrated more on separated select Tech rather than culture or creatures. Nothing too unusual yet, but I'm just getting into it
I dont know if its "alien enougth", but it isnt hi-tech (just technological) or extreme "biological" alien. The design could be used for one of the "preset" cultures or techs. I tried to stick to an underwater feel.

| At first, I thought you want that to be an airship, as every other designer would do.
But then I looked at your description, and it all started to make sense. I can totally imagine having these things roam the oceans.

| Should I take a specific direction, for instance, drawing only humanoid tech, or should I just draw anything that comes to mind?
As I understood drawing craetures is pointless, as they will generate themselves throught evolution, so thats out of the question anyways, and landscapes are also autogenerated. That leaves only concept of tech development, and/or structures.
Im not able to produce anything with hight quality yet because my drawing pad is dead , so only pen and pencil for now.

| Today I was walking downtown, and someone was smart enough to fly a balloon at my face. This led me to an idea.
What if earth would be a low gravity environment? It would be much simpler to live in the air suspended in giant balloons away from all the dangers and build much taller buildings for the same purpose.
So yea, that’s what I decided to try to represent: some ideas for a low gravity environment.
