I just made these silhouettes for no particular reason:
Spoiler:
They're two colour top-down versions of the cell models and some of the creatures posted in the concept race thread. It even includes a top-down view of the Disturbance (which was disturbingly difficult to make) and the ocean creature image on the ModDB page.
I'll probably add more cells, creatures, military units and even spaceships in the same style over time to create a sort of wallpaper, but for now I think that's enough.

It looks nice. It reminds me of the silhouette wallpaper of Spore.

This reminds me of the Spore background when the stages are loading (This reminds me of the Creature stage)

That was sort of what I was aiming for, but obviously less abstract and more consistent. Hopefully this will end up like a fractal - as you zoom in, smaller and smaller objects appear in the spaces, and other than the fact that you're looking at microbes rather than spaceships, you won't know what scale you're at.

That is one hell of an awesome wallpaper. :DDDDD Mind if I design some more creatures for the outer layer? won't put them in, but its something.

Nice Oliveriver! I'm not one to be very good with silhouettes - they turn out looking like plain shadows. Oh, the little cells! It's great~

I wanted to make fanart and maybe other people can put fanart here to. (The light green and yellow are bioluminecsent) (It communicates with sonar)
I am aware it is just crappy MSpaint art.

There is already the Concept Art thread. Also, this is a developer forum, not a fan forum, so we don't need threads just for fans.

In my opinion it looks like a dinosaur  Well, I guess I can't help basing drawings/3D models off of real things sometimes.
P.S. - Awesome sketch Scio! I'm certain that those creatures (It looks like there is a human there to show the size) would look great in-game! Is that creature in the upper area a pterodactyl-like creature?

Hmm, I replied to this, but it looks like it didn't go through. Oh well Here is what I wrote: I have never heard of a tauntaun before! I looked it up, and it sure did look like what I drew  Just less fur, a different snout and different horns.

Moved. If you got bored and made some rocks, don't make a new thread for it.

Thought I should be more active on the forums, so I made a little concept art.
Here's an illustration of bioluminescent plants in a cavern environment
Spoiler:
Here's an illustration I actually did quite a while before I knew about the Thrive project, but I thought it gave a good atmosphere to looking on the outside of space from inside a nebula.
Spoiler:
Birth of a Star (Proto-Planetary Disk)
Spoiler:
Death of a Star (Black Hole)
Spoiler:
That's all for now, I might make more in the near future as more time arises!

@Motorhead
Those are really cool.. Well I guess I could just scan in my little pencil drawings of concept art. The thing is, I tend to draw slightly small... Oh well. I'm putting it up as soon as I can anyways.
Sorry for double posting, don't know how to edit posts... anyways, after an insane amount of scans (I almost did another one to fix the fact that one of the drones is almost cut off... but Belgium it) I managed to get my old-school drawings onto my computer. Mostly I just drew these because i was bored but I think it still looks okay. Although the bottom one is pretty crap.
